Natural dog products get talked about so much these days that the word “natural” has almost stopped meaning anything on its own. So we thought it was worth explaining what natural dog products actually mean on our shelves, rather than just slapping the word on a label.
For us, a natural dog product doesn’t mean expensive, complicated, or reserved for dogs on a particular diet. It just means ingredients your dog’s body recognises, nothing hiding behind an E-number, and nothing in there that isn’t doing a job. Whether you’re a die-hard raw feeder or you feed a well-made dry food and top it up with a few good extras, the same rule applies: you can only feed the best you can, and it helps to know what “best” actually looks like. Here’s where natural dog products show up across our shop.
Natural Treats: More Than Just a Bribe
With 250+ natural treat varieties on our shelves (our Natural Pick & Mix is the one everyone ends up walking out with), treats are often the first natural dog product people try, usually because a dog turned their nose up at something ultra-processed and a single-ingredient chew went down a treat instead. Single-ingredient treats and chews mean exactly what they say: one animal part, air-dried or freeze-dried, nothing added. No mystery flavourings, no need for a long ingredients panel.
Some of our natural treats do more than fill a training pouch, too: a few, like Benyfit Natural’s frozen ice cream treats, are built from a full botanical blend (think turmeric, kelp, alfalfa) so they’re doing a bit of nutritional heavy lifting while your dog thinks they’re just getting a treat.
Natural Supplements: Topping Up, Not Overhauling
You don’t need to rebuild your dog’s whole diet with natural dog products to feed more naturally. Sometimes it’s a spoonful on top of what you’re already doing. Our supplement shelf covers things like gut and digestion support (mushroom blends from Kiki Health) and everyday wins like Hackney Dog House’s Chicken Bone Broth Powder for hydration, gut support and fussy eaters.
None of these are dressed up as miracle cures. We’re not vets, and we’ll never tell you a supplement “treats” anything. But a natural, food-based supplement is a nice, low-risk way to give your dog’s diet a bit more of what it might be missing.
Natural Raw and Dry Food: Real Ingredients, Not Fillers
Flip over a bag of most supermarket kibble and you’ll find a wall of text you need a chemistry degree to get through. Flip over a bag of the natural raw and cold-pressed food we stock (brands like Naturaw, Durham Animal Feeds, Millies Wolfheart, DAF and Alpha Spirit) and you’ll generally find food: named meat (not “meat derivatives”), vegetables, and a handful of natural extras like seaweed, rosehip or turmeric doing a specific job, rather than bulking things out.
That’s the bit we get asked about most in the shop (“what’s actually in this?”), so we’re going to start pulling a few of those individual ingredients out properly and giving them their own spotlight.
